We at Maryland Pediatrics consider caring for your children a great pleasure and responsibility. Most of us are parents ourselves. We work hard to manage and maintain a professional, caring and supportive environment for our patients. We are honored that you are considering our practice, and are confident that you will be pleased with our service.
Dr. Alvaro Ramos is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has cared for children in the Carroll and Howard County communities since 1997. He earned his medical degree in 1991 from U.C.C.A in Costa Rica. Upon medical school graduation Dr. Ramos completed his Pediatrics residency training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey.
After completing his residency, Dr. Ramos joined a pediatric practice in Carroll County. Moved by his passion to give patients the best of care and using today’s great technology without forgetting medical compassion, traditional patient doctor relationship, in 2008, Dr. Ramos founded his solo pediatric practice and in 2015 he opened his second office in Columbia MD.
Doctor Ramos enjoys seeing his patients grow and stay in touch. Many of his patients now in college visit our practice, during their breaks, for medical visits, to bring cookies, which are greatly appreciated, or just to say hi.
Dr. Ramos is passionate about helping his patients get to college and be successful. That is why he participates in many ADHD and learning disabilities conferences.
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Ramos enjoys spending time with his wife and five children.
Laura is one of our providers at Maryland Pediatrics. She is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner who received her Nursing degree at Johns Hopkins University in 2013. Since graduating, Laura has worked in the Peace Corps and as a Locums provider in various pediatrician’s offices in the area. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter and dog!
Stacey has been with Maryland Pediatrics since it opened in 2008. She loves watching our patients grow up year after year and celebrates all of their accomplishments in athletics, academics and life in general. Stacey and her husband of 21 years are busy raising 2 teenage daughters, one of which will be heading off to college soon. When she is not on the sidelines of one of her kids' sports games, Stacey enjoys cheering on the Ravens and watching reality shows.
